“Catherine listened compassionately to our story, honoured the challenges we had experienced and also acknowledged the intelligence of our coping strategies.
I think that when you are exhausted parents you need someone who understands and doesn’t judge. Catherine was this person for us…
After a week or two of following our plan our daughter’s naps began to lengthen and then… wow she started to sleep through the night.” Annie (first-time-mom)
My Approach
What is Supportive Sleep Coaching?
In my experience, it is parents AND babies who need support when making changes around sleep. I support parents so they can support their baby or child through the change. Because we all resist change, and because we are all vastly different – a supportive approach works well for troubleshooting, tweaking a plan, and navigating curve balls as they arise, versus getting frustrated and giving up. I am not a big fan of the phrase ‘sleep training’ – I work with a variety of sleep modification approaches which feel more supportive to families.
Making the match
I put a lot of thought and care into fitting each family with the sleep strategy that will work for them. Your parenting philosophy, support systems, baby or child’s temperament, sibling relationships and household set-up will shape a unique Supportive Sleep Plan that fits your family’s needs and goals. I have an integrative approach and use a wide range of sleep solutions and techniques – the success is in the right fit, and in the continuous support.
Education
My approach is research and evidence based, all of which I like to share with parents. When parents understand why they are making the changes they are – they feel confident and committed to the process – and so it works.
A United Front
I am a sleep coach but so are you (or you will be)! I encourage a team-like-relationship with the families I work with. This is a process that thrives on good, honest communication.
When your baby is ready
Newborn Sleep Shaping is invaluable for any expectant couple or parents with a baby up to 5 months. Supportive Sleep Coaching is more appropriate for babies who are 5-6 months and older.

How Supportive Sleep Coaching Works
A Comprehensive Intake
This gives me a detailed picture of past and present, including your baby or child’s sleep history, and current daily log (routines, feeding schedule, naps and bedtime).
Understanding your expectations and sleep goals
It’s very helpful for both of us to clearly identify your sleep goals, and your ideal timelines for improvements.
Considering your family dynamics
Your parenting style, child’s temperament, support systems, household set-up and stress levels all factor into developing a Sleep Plan that will work for your family.
Moving forward with a Sleep Plan
Based on the above, I will provide you with a thorough step-by-step Supportive Sleep Plan including recommendations for appropriate changes to daily routines, schedules, bedtimes, and strategies to support your child’s healthy sleep, that fits your family’s needs and goals.
Education
Whenever possible I will provide you with research and articles to inform the changes you are making.

- in-home visit
- customized Supportive Sleep Coaching Plan
- Sleep Plan review (phone call)
- 1 week of daily check-ins after you get started on your Sleep Plan
Follow-up Support – $90
The success of Supportive Sleep Coaching hinges on having follow-up support. A custom Sleep Plan requires custom support – parents always have questions shortly after implementing their Sleep Plan, so I offer discounted support to make sure you meet your sleep goals and have the confidence to move forward with changes over the long term. I offer this to parents who use Supportive Sleep Coaching – ongoing.
- 4 follow-up emails or 15 minute phone calls
Supportive Sleep Coaching – Full Package – $595
Parents who get on board with Supportive Sleep Coaching most often take advantage of the Full Package. With this, I offer a small discount to those who purchase Supportive Sleep Coaching + Follow-up Support at the same time.
Supportive Sleep Chats – 45- minute phone consultation (or 2 week email package) – $75
If you have a targeted question around your infant or toddler’s sleep – I am likely able to get you back on track with a Supportive Sleep Chat. Questions around transitioning to one nap, early rising, or moving from crib to bed can often be easily tackled, without an comprehensive Sleep Plan. I’d love to help.
